US printing guide
Print it beautifully, without guesswork.
Your download includes files sized for common US and international frames. Printing and framing are not included.
Choose the right file
- 18×24 PDF
- Best for an 18×24 inch frame or poster print.
- 24×36 PDF
- Use for a larger statement print in a 24×36 inch frame.
- A2 / A1 PDF
- Choose this for printers and frames that use ISO paper sizes.
- High-resolution PNG
- A flexible fallback for online services that do not accept PDF.
Recommended settings
- Print at 100% or Actual Size. Turn off Fit to Page.
- Choose heavyweight matte paper between 170 and 250 gsm, or roughly 65 to 100 lb cover.
- Use full color and the printer's highest quality setting.
- Do not add a border unless you want space for a mat.
- Review the final print preview before placing the order.
Where to print
Local print shop: Bring the matching PDF on a USB drive or send it through the shop's upload page. Ask for matte poster or cover stock.
Online printer: Select the exact size before uploading. Confirm that automatic cropping is disabled.
At home: Use the high-resolution PNG for a smaller print, or print the PDF through Adobe Acrobat with Actual Size selected.
Before you frame it
Colors can vary by screen, paper, ink, and printer. LifeAtlas files use sRGB for broad consumer print compatibility; they are not a professional CMYK proof. Check names, dates, and life moments before printing.
